OrthoVirginia is opening its newest Ortho On Call clinic at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Hanover County on October 17, 2011.
Ortho On Call clinics provide a cost-effective alternative to emergency room visits for individuals with muscle and bone injuries and other non-life-threatening orthopaedic conditions requiring immediate care.
The new clinic is located at Memorial Regional Medical Center at the Medical Office Building II (8266 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville). The hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am until noon. The clinic offers after-hours treatment on both an appointment and walk-in basis.
At the clinic, certified orthopaedic physician’s assistants and physicians are able to evaluate and treat patients, and to establish a plan of care. Patients of all ages can receive treatment for fractures, strains and sprains, sports-related injuries and any other orthopaedic issues they may be experiencing.
“We are very pleased to be the first and only clinic of its kind in Hanover County, and we hope to fill a need in the Hanover community for more timely and affordable access to quality orthopaedic care,” said Sue Kewer, physician assistant and manager of Ortho On Call. “Our clinics help streamline the process: we can handle the patient’s care all in one facility.”
With the opening of this new clinic in Hanover, OrthoVirginia has three Ortho On Call locations in the metro Richmond area: St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center and now Memorial Regional Medical Center.
