What is included with my package?
Your self-pay package is a single visit package and includes an injury history discussion, physical examination, detailed care plan and if needed an x-ray. This visit package does not include follow-up visits or any additional testing. Follow-up visits and other services can be purchased separately if needed.
How do I use the self-pay packages with insurance?
The self-pay packages do not interact with insurance. If you choose a self-pay package, OrthoVirginia will not bill your insurance. Depending on your specific insurance plan, a self-pay package may be more affordable than using your insurance. Through OrthoVirginia’s self-pay packages, you will know the cost of the appointment up front.
Important: In the event you choose to purchase a self-pay package through OrthoVirginia, you will waive the right to file that visit with your insurance. You will also have the right to request that OrthoVirginia restrict the use and/or disclosure of PHI for treatment, payment and health care operations.
What happens when I purchase a package?
When you’ve found the package you like, you’ll pay for it online with a credit card just like other online purchases. It’s secure and your money is safe. Once you’ve checked out, an OrthoVirginia scheduler will contact you to schedule your appointment with your selected provider. You’ll go to your appointment, and you won’t need to pay anything at check-in since you’ve already paid. After you’ve been seen by an OrthoVirginia provider, you will receive a receipt for the purchase of your self-pay package.
Can I use my FSA or HSA to purchase a self-pay package?
While you can use HSA money to pay for a variety of medical and dental services and procedures, you generally can't use it for a self-pay package. Please contact your HSA plan to determine if self-pay services would be eligible for purchase through your individual HSA account.
Can I purchase a self-pay package over the phone?
No. Self-pay packages are not available over the phone.
