FAQs

Fracture Care

Commonly treated upper extremity fractures include proximal humerus and clavicle fractures. Treatment recommendations are based on the amount of fracture displacement on initial X-rays. Lower extremity fractures include hip, patella, femur, tibia, and ankle fractures. A majority of these fractures require surgical fixation to anatomically align the bone and restore the ability to weightbear.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections

A PRP injection is where a peripheral blood sample is taken and spun down in a centrifuge. The platelet rich portion is then obtained and injected into the affected area using sterile technique. The procedure requires no anesthesia and is often done in the office or outpatient setting. Clinical improvement from an injection can take up to 6-8 weeks. Common indications include chronic elbow lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), patellar tendinopathy, Achilles tendinopathy, and knee osteoarthritis.
