Non-operative hand fracture treatment

If the bones in your hand can be put into their proper places without surgery, you can use a cast or splint while your bones heal.

If your hand doesn’t need surgery for the broken bones, your doctor can give you a splint or a cast to keep the bones in position. An x-ray will help your doctor determine if you need surgery. While you’re healing, other x-rays will make sure everything is healing well. Your fingers may be taped together to support them while they’re healing.
