Non-operative ganglion cyst treatment

Ganglion cysts that are painless and do not interfere with using your hand do not need surgery.

Since ganglion cysts occur spontaneously, they can also spontaneously go away. If a ganglion cyst isn’t bothering you, your doctor may just want to monitor it.

Splints and anti-inflammatory medicine can help relieve pain from the cyst.

Your doctor can remove fluid from the cyst with a needle, usually done in the office, but the cyst may come back.

If the cyst starts to be very painful or cause problems using your hand, your doctor can surgically remove it.
