Non-operative flatfoot treatment

Flatfoot is the condition of not having an arch in the foot when standing up. The arch might be present when sitting or on tiptoes. It's usually caused by a tendon in the foot being injured.

A walking boot can help keep pressure off your foot while your tendon heals. After using the walking boot for a while, you may wear orthotics or a brace in your regular shoes to support your arches.

Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicines may help, as can steroid injections.
