Medial apophysitis (Little League elbow) treatment

Medial apophysitis, or Little League elbow, is an injury to the bone on the inner elbow of children. It usually happens in children who are doing a lot of throwing, and can usually be treated with rest and physical therapy.

Little League elbow does not usually need surgery. The most important part of treating it is for your child to stop throwing for several weeks to allow the section of bone to heal. Your doctor might also recommend physical therapy to strengthen the muscles and to improve the throwing technique. Better technique can help prevent future problems.
