Physical Therapy is a second career for Garrett. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he studied viola performance, receiving a Bachelor's degree from Eastman School of Music and a Master's Degree from Northwestern University. A hand injury both ended his viola career, and exposed him to PT. Garrett moved to the DC area with Teach for America in 2000. He developed an interest in personal training and massage, which eventually lead him to receive his DPT from Marymount University in 2011. Garrett initially worked with patients with neurologic injuries at National Rehabilitation Hospital, but has since worked in orthopedics for the last 3 years.
