Setting Up Proxy Access on MyChart
Proxy access allows someone else to look at a patient’s MyChart account. Parents and guardians can set up proxy access for a minor child, and adults can give proxy access to another adult they trust. Follow these steps to set up proxy access.
Setting Up Proxy Access for a Minor Child
To set up proxy access for a minor child patient, the adult needs to have an OrthoVirginia MyChart account.
Step 1
Log into the adult’s MyChart.
Step 2
Click on the menu button. Under the Resources heading, choose Request Access to Minor.

Step 3
A form will appear. Fill out the form and submit it.

Step 4
If the information can be verified, access to the minor’s MyChart will be granted within 2 business days.
Setting Up Proxy Access for an Adult
To set up proxy access for an adult, both the patient and the proxy need to have OrthoVirginia MyChart accounts.
Step 1
Log into the patient’s MyChart.
Step 2
Click on the menu button. Under the Sharing heading, choose Sharing Hub.

Step 3
