Parker Johnsen, MD

Dr. Johnsen’s path to orthopedic hand surgery began even before medical school while conducting research at the Hospital for Special Surgery. During this time, a mentor introduced him to hand and peripheral nerve surgery, sparking a lasting interest in the field’s intricate anatomy and the technical challenges of restoring function. What has continued to inspire him throughout his career is the opportunity to help patients regain the use of their hands, return to the activities they enjoy, and ultimately reclaim their independence. Hand surgery uniquely combines his passion for anatomy, technical problem-solving, and patient-centered care, making it an especially rewarding field.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Johnsen enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. An avid fly fisherman, enthusiastic home cook, and aspiring golfer, he values any opportunity to be outdoors. Above all, he cherishes creating lasting memories with his family.
