We’ve received reports of fraudulent emails claiming “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” These emails are not from OrthoVirginia or MyChart. They are part of a phishing scam designed to steal personal information.
If you get one of these emails, please:
- Do not click on any links, including any “unsubscribe” links
- Do not provide personal, financial or health information
- Do not reply to the message
- Delete the email immediately
How to Spot a Scam Email
- Be cautious of unexpected messages offering kits, benefits, rewards, or account updates.
- Check the sender’s address. Legitimate OrthoVirginia MyChart emails come from [email protected]. Other OrthoVirginia emails, like this one, come from [email protected].
- Look for spelling mistakes, unusual phrasing, urgent demands, or unfamiliar links.
- Be wary of any email requesting personal or financial information or urging immediate action.
If you are worried your MyChart account information has been stolen, please go to mychart.orthovirginia.com, go to account settings and update your password.
