Lisfranc fracture/dislocation surgery

Lisfranc surgery is to repair broken or dislocated bones in the midfoot, or the middle part of the foot.

Surgical treatment is common for Lisfranc injuries.

With surgery, metal hardware like plates or screws will be put into the foot to hold the bones in position as they heal. The hardware may be removed later after the bones heal.

If the bones are too broken to be repaired normally, they may be fused together into one piece.

After surgery, you won’t be able to walk on the injured foot for several weeks. You may have other restrictions on what you’re able to do, and may need physical therapy.
