Hugh is a native Northern Virginian who has been with OrthoVirginia since 2002. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1990. He then earned his degree in Physical Therapy in 1997 from Robert Gordon University, in Aberdeen, Scotland. Hugh is also a Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist (COMT), earning this additional credential in 2009 from the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. He is also fully licensed and credentialed in Dry Needling (CIDN). He enjoys working with patients of all ages, covering the full spectrum of orthopaedic conditions. His interests include sports injuries, degenerative conditions of the spine and extremities, and post-operative rehabilitation. He has a background in the sport of swimming, both as a competitor, and a coach. He is married, with four boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth basketball, and playing guitar.
