Shockwave therapy is sending shockwaves through injuries to your muscles, tendons, and ligaments to encourage healing.

Shockwave therapy can be used on many parts of the body for various conditions.

In shockwave therapy, a device is put against your skin, and the waves are sent through your skin into the injury. The device stays outside your skin.

Your doctor will administer the shockwave therapy. You will probably have a few sessions of it, spaced out several days apart.
