Non-operative Bankart lesion treatment

A Bankart lesion is a tear in the shoulder labrum, which causes shoulder instability and shoulder dislocations. Wearing a sling and doing physical therapy may help heal the tear.

Medical treatment is needed with a Bankart lesion. You may be allowed to participate in physical therapy and wear a sling to help your shoulder heal. However, not doing surgery increases the risk of your shoulder dislocating again in the future.
