David Jevsevar

David S. Jevsevar, M.D., MBA, FAAOS
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jevsevar is Chief Executive Officer and an orthopedic surgeon. Before joining OrthoVirginia in 2022, Dr. Jevsevar was an orthopedic surgeon, professor, and an academic researcher aswell as chair and regional vice-president of orthopedics at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health.

Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Jevsevar attended Saint Vincent College for his undergraduate education and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Jevsevar completed his general surgery internship at The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and a research fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at the Tufts Affiliated Orthopaedic Residency and Allegheny General Hospital. He also completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Washington Teaching Hospital. Dr. Jevsevar holds a Master of Business Administration from the Raymond J. Harbert School of Business at Auburn University.

After serving in the Air Force, Dr. Jevsevar started a successful private practice. When he sold the practice to Intermountain Healthcare, he became the medical director of their orthopedic clinical program before moving to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.


Barbie Hayes, MBA
Chief Operating Officer

Barbie has been with OrthoVirginia for most of her career, starting as the Operations Director for Central Virginia Orthopaedics in the 1990s. When local orthopedic practices merged in 2005 she became the Director of Operations at the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia (OCCV). When OCCV merged with OrthoVirginia in 2016, Barbie became the Chief Administrative Officer for the West region and later the East region as well. She started her current position in 2021.

She earned a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Virginia and a masters of business administration from Averett University.

Laraine Warner joined OrthoVirginia in January 2023 as Chief Human Resources Officer. As a member of the executive team, Laraine is responsible for all human resources activities.  Previously, she led HR Strategy and Governance at McKesson Corporation where she worked for 10 years.  During that time she build a leadership development function, led talent management for a business unit and led a large scale integration.  She held various HR leadership roles at Circuit City and General Electric as well as ran a successful consulting firm specializing in HR strategy and talent management.

Laraine earned a Doctorate of Education at George Washington University in Adult and Organization Learning.  Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master’s in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.


Cory Bagby

Cory Bagby joined OrthoVirginia in the Fall of 2023 as Chief Legal Officer. As a member of the executive team, he is responsible for all legal a nd compliance activities on behalf of the organization. Prior to joining OrthoVirginia, Cory served as the Chief Operating & Legal Officer for OFFOR Health, a venture capital backed healthcare services organization. He has over 15 years of healthcare and leadership experience in complex healthcare organizations including Central Maine Healthcare, AMITA Health, and Advocate Healthcare.   

Cory earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma, a law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and an executive MBA from the Quantic School of Management and Technology.


Terri Ripley, MIT, CPHIMS, FHIMSS
Chief Information Officer

Terri started at Centra, a health system in the Lynchburg area, as a programmer and analyst. Later roles included team leader revenue cycle, team leader web development, and manager of applications services. Her final role at Centra was as the director for systems and programming. After a couple of years as a consultant she went to Inova Health System as the assistant vice president for project portfolio management. She joined OrthoVirginia in 2017.

Terri has a bachelor of science in computer science from Lynchburg College and a masters of information technology from Virginia Tech.


Donna Kurek

Donna Kurek MSN, RN, MHA, ONC, CMSRN, CPHQ
Chief Quality and Patient Experience Officer

Donna began her work at OrthoVirginia as the Director of Clinical Programs managing the BPCI-A and value based care programs. She has evolved her role into developing the quality and safety program for OrthoVirginia. Before joining OrthoVirginia in 2018, Donna’s career involves developing a comprehensive joint and spine patient program, serving as peer review coordinator then director of Physician Quality at Henrico Doctors Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. She then moved to become Director of Quality for South Side Regional Medical Center. 

Donna has over 30 years of nursing experience and is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, and is a Certified Professional of HealthCare Quality. Donna Obtained her master’s degree in Nursing and Health Administration from the University of Phoenix and she is currently a Doctoral of Nursing student at Liberty University. Donna is The National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) President-Elect and looks forward to being the 45th President of NAON in 2024.
