Dr. Keith Lawhorn and Biomet Sports Medicine have developed a new device to repair torn meniscus (cartilage) in the knee. This new device, Maxfire MarXmen is an arthroscopic meniscal repair system enabling the surgeon to repair torn cartilage in the knee using only a small hole in the skin and joint. This device allows surgeons to sew the meniscus tear together using a knotless all-suture repair device.
