Tami Pohnert is a hand therapist at our Hanover Memorial Regional office. She is a licensed physical therapist, a certified athletic trainer and a certified hand therapist. Tami has worked in a wide variety of settings, with a primary focus on upper extremity. She earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the College of William and Mary. Before going to physical therapy school, Tami worked as an athletic trainer and as sports medicine coordinator for a local hospital. She received her master’s degree in physical therapy from Emory University School of Physical Therapy in Atlanta, Georgia. She also has a Ph.D. in gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Tami has worked for OrthoVirginia since 2005. She is a Self-Help Group Leader through the American Arthritis Foundation, and she and her dogs are active with the organization Therapy Dogs Incorporated, regularly visiting nursing homes and hospitals.
