Leanne was born in Fairfax, Virginia, but shortly after her family moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Her entire childhood was spent there, and she continues to claim it as “home.” Leanne attended Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania and graduated in 2004 with a Master of Physical Therapy, a Bachelor of Health Science, and a minor in Psychology. Following graduation, Leanne volunteered with Cabrini Mission Corps, which landed her in New York, New York. For one year she volunteered in Cabrini Medical Center, providing physical therapy to patients on the inpatient rehabilitation unit. It was through this experience that Leanne decided to venture into outpatient orthopedics and found a love for the atmosphere.
It was also through Cabrini Mission Corps that Leanne was able to get a taste of Colorado for she spent a short time volunteering at a mission site in Golden, Colorado after her volunteer work in New York. Immediately a desire to experience a different part of the country set in, and in 2006, Leanne embarked on a new adventure and moved to Greeley, Colorado. There, she worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic for five years before relocating back to the East Coast. Leanne came on board with OrthoVirginia in August 2011.
While practicing physical therapy full-time in Colorado, Leanne returned to school to work toward a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. In April 2011, Leanne graduated from the University of St. Augustine with her DPT degree.
Outside of the physical therapy world, Leanne has a love for the outdoors. She enjoys running and hiking and snow shoeing in the winter months. Checking out exhibits at museums, watching baseball (especially the Rockies!), attending the theatre, and trying new restaurants are up her alley as well!
