Keith W. Lawhorn, MD
I just wanted to express my gratitude to you for helping get me back to my active lifestyle. I first came to you back in early 2011 with right shoulder problems. You performed arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. Since then, I started developing issues with my right elbow. Possibly all my years of playing tennis and lifting weights caught up to me. You then operated on my elbow in early October 2012. After both surgeries I went through your rehab program there at OrthoVirginia which aided in my recovery progress. Since that time, I've slowly built up my strength again with my normal workout routine at Gold's gym feeling good and pain free.
Fast forward to this year. I just competed in the Virginia Super Spartan Race (8+ miles/20+ obstacles) at the Wintergreen resort. This was my first race ever and I'm proud to say that I completed this challenging race placing high in all categories (overall, gender and age).
I greatly appreciate your caring and conservative approach with my shoulder and elbow issues. You are the best in my book for actually taking the time to sit and listen to my questions and concerns. Anyone I know or come across that is thinking of seeking orthopaedic care, I will definately suggest they come to you.
Thanks again Dr. Lawhorn, I really appreciate all you have done for me!
