Thanks to my care at OrthoVirginia, I was able to climb a mountain on the one-year anniversary of my hip surgery!
I went to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument for a short hike, but I accidentally ended up on a different trail that led to the top of the mountain. The obstacles were daunting, but I didn't turn back, and I made it all the way to the top--a climb of about 700 feet, to an elevation of 6700 feet. I'd never done anything like that before, even before my hip problems began. Only on the way back down did I realize it was the one-year anniversary of my hip surgery, which gave the climb special meaning.
