Ben W. Kittredge, IV, MD
Thanks to my care at OrthoVirginia, I can...honestly say that I was very happy with the overall experience. I am a nurse, work for a large local hospital system which is not always consistent with patient care - so I was bracing for the worst. I also had little experience with surgery ( only past history of one C-section ) so was a bit nervous. Needless to say, the care I received far exceeded my expectation.
My original experience started with a ski accident in March when I tore my rotator cuff. By ignoring it for several months, I developed the infamous "frozen shoulder". The PT which I received from Liz was phenomenal and she rehabbed me to the point of being strong enough for surgery which was done in September by Dr Kittredge at the Lorton Outpatient Center. Once again, that was a surprisingly lovely experience. I was super impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff and my first ever general anesthesia experience could not have gone smoother. Recovery over the next three months was very difficult, but I feel that I had been prepared well for this to be the case.
I am four months out now from the surgery, am back to work full time and continuing PT on my own at home. The only major disappointment throughout the experience was having to switch from OV PT to an Inova facility PT midstream due to insurance restrictions ( $50 copay for OV PT versus $25 copay for Inova PT ). I realized that this was because of my insurance coverage, but was so sad to leave Lizs' care and noticed a huge difference in her PT office and their staffs proficiency ( which was AWESOME ) and the Inova PT facility ( just OK ) .
Hopefully I am done with orthopedic injuries, but God forbid another one should plague me, I will definitely use OrthoVa.
Thanks for making a difficult time in my life a little more tolerable and its good to be back living my normal life.
