I am now able to put my socks and shoes on. I can walk through a grocery store without pain and burning in my legs. I even walk to work in nice weather--3.5 miles one way! I almost never take the elevator at work anymore. I'm no longer physically limited at my IT management job.
But the best part of this first year post-op? I booked a life long dream trip to Iceland 8 months after my surgery. I climbed the 4th largest glacier in Iceland which was a 3 hour trek. I strapped my crampon foot gear on myself without assistance. I climbed part way up to a waterfall but had to turn back due to ice. I wasn't physically limited by anything on my trip.
