Michael J. Diminick, MD
Thanks to my care at OrthoVirginia, I can walk without pain for the first time in six years.
As a college professor I spent several hours each day standing during lectures on concrete floors. As a Dad to four sons I was playing many sports. When I turned 60 I was struck with a sharp pain in my knees - like a spike was driven into the top of the knee. It would happen in both kness. X-rays revealed the cartledge was gone. Both kness were bone on bone. By 2017 I decided knee replacement was a far better option using a walker or wheelchair for mobility. In May of 2018 He did the same procedure on my right knee. I am not limited in the amount I can walk. I can walk miles at a time. Stairs are no longer an issue. I used to crawl up our stairs at home but now I can climb them with ease. The best thing of all is that for the first time in six years I am pain free.
I decided to have my rehab at OrthoVirginia as well.
Aparajithan Sabapathy and Casey Trost are simply 2 of the best therapists in the region. They both incorporate a deep muscle massage as part of the therapy in the weeks following surgery. They are knowledgeable, professional, and have great people skills. I used them for two years because they are the best. I also have to give a shout out to Bob Caughey who is helping me use physical therapy conditioning to improve my golf game!
