H. Edward Lane, III, MD
Thanks to my care at OrthoVirginia, I can walk.
After suffering severe sciatica for some time, and trying everything I could to avoid the orthopedist, I went to see Dr. Lane. After an MRI and begging for an injection versus the fusion that I needed for my severely herniated L4/L5 and L5/S1 discs, I ended up having an emergency discectomy anyway the next day because I developed Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES). Dr. Lane was the first to mention those words to me, and when I went to the ER I was sure there was something terribly wrong. I am SO thankful that Dr. Lane was there that day doing surgery. He treated me with respect and genuine concern. He and his scheduling person (in 2013) were amazing. Even though I had to have a second surgery, I received no less than I did the first time from any of the team.
Despite having a lot of side effects from the CES still 3 years later, I am positive that if it weren't for Dr. Lane I would not be walking. Thank you, I am forever grateful!
