Karen graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1988 with a BS degree in Occupational Therapy. After graduating from UCA, she moved to Central Florida where she focused on traumatic hand injuries & worked with orthopedic hand surgeons in developing therapeutic protocol. In 1993, she attended a nationally-recognized hand therapy residency program in Mesa, Arizona and subsequently earned the prestigious Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation. After moving to Northern Virginia in 2007, Karen joined Commonwealth Orthopedics as a Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years experience in Occupational Therapy.
Karen resides in Potomac Falls with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she volunteers at her children's elementary school and year-round swim team . In addition to caring for her patients, Karen enjoys running and skiing & stays busy driving her three active children to lacrosse, swim team and guitar lessons.
