As an important branch of orthopedics, pediatrics focuses on the many facets of bone and joint problems in the growing child. Whether suffering from a playground injury or dealing with a congenital issue, children many times have unique orthopedic needs and concerns that make their course of treatment different from that of adults. And, with bones that are still maturing, these young patients and their families deserve special attention and compassionate care.
Our board certified, orthopedic surgeons treat children with acute orthopedic injuries, congenital and acquired deformities including scoliosis and other orthopedic problems specific to the child. Dr. Kathleen A. McHale, and Dr. Christopher Kim also treat children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida as well as spinal cord injuries and other neuromuscular conditions.
