Richmond, VA; The results are in and OrthoVirginia employees in the Richmond area generously donated 898 pounds of food to the Central Virginia Food BankĀ (CVFB) in 2011 — a 38% increase from 2010.
Since 2006, OrthoVirginia employees have contributed a total of 3,737 pounds of food to the food bank. “Helping so many people is what it is all about. We are blessed and we want to give back to our community … we really do care,” says OrthoVirginia’s Kelly Koogler, Office Manager and coordinator of the food drive.
The CVFB brings hunger relief to 31 counties and five cities through a comprehensive approach that includes acquiring needed foods and distributing these items to communities, families, and individuals who need them to meet their unique needs. Through targeted programs designed to address specific hunger challenges, CVFB also works to ensure that our region’s most vulnerable populations – children, families, and seniors – have access to a reliable source of healthy nutrition.
