Foot and Ankle
While only a small number of people are born with foot and ankle problems, 3 out of 4 Americans will experience serious problems with their lower extremities at some point in their lifetime. With 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, and 19 muscles, a minor misalignment or injury to the foot can lead to frustrating and sometimes serious repercussions for the performance of the entire body. The ankle is an equally complex joint formed by the connection of three bones and including several important ligaments, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels that all work in harmony to ensure proper function. Like the foot, when even one small part of the ankle is damaged, every other part of the lower leg can be affected, leading to pain…and problems.
Our fellowship trained and board certified specialists have years of education and experience treating disorders of the lower extremity. From ankle arthroscopy to total joint surgery and complex fracture reconstructions, we offer a range of treatment options and surgical techniques to relieve and heal most foot and ankle problems.
